This study was funded by the Desert Recreation District and the Riverside County Regional Park & Open-Space District. It is the most detailed study of the feasibility of construction of a Class 1 Muti-Use Trail along the entire Whitewater Wash to date. Information from other studies currently ongoing at the time of this study were also shared with the consultants to get the most accurate data available. This includes the Non-Motorized Transportation Plan funded by CVAG and produced by Ryan Snyder Associates, the City of Indio Trails Feasibility Study by the CVCTA produced by LSA Associates and the Indio Hills Hiking Trails Study by the Coachella Valley Conservancy.
